Supplements

For anyone interested in following a vegan diet, Dr. Esselstyn recommends a few supplements:


  1. A daily multivitamin
  2. 1,000 mcg of vitamin B12 daily
  3. 1,000 mg of calcium daily for those over 50 and 1,200 for those over 60
  4. 1,000 IU of vitamin D3 daily for those over 50
  5. 1 tablespoon of flaxseed meal daily for Omega - 3 fatty acids
I mix the flaxseed meal with my Oatmeal Quick Meal once a day.
